Why was the United States baseball team the home team in their game against Canada?
When the baseball game was at Rogers Centre in Toronto, and I would have thought the United States would have the visiting team, and Canada's baseball team would be the home team, since the game was played on their land. But that shows you how much I know about the rules of whom gets to be the visiting and the home teams in the World Baseball Classic.

Well, technically, the Rogers Centre is considered a "neutral site" even though Canada is home team in that stadium. I'm not saying this is true for the WBC, but in such format, each pool of 4 teams usually draws a number and the lowest number gets designated the home team. It's tough for the Canadian team to be visiting in Canada, but as the saying goes… "That's the luck of the draw"
