Why do the yankees have a hard time beating the angels?
They're the only team in the entire major leagues to have a winning record against the yankees.
They got swept this weekend at home by the angels.
How do the angels dominate the yankees and get the job done against them??
They even beat them in the 02 and 05 playoffs!
i meant winning record against the yankees since joe torre took over (since they won a ton of championships and were dominant since he was the manager up till last year)

The Angels have emphasized good pitching, both starting and bullpen–first with Troy Percival and then with Frankie Rodriguez, and speed and tactics over slugging. You can ask Casey Kotchman to bunt, but imagine asking A-Rod or Giambi to bunt. A prima donna is not allowed on the Angels. Scioscia benched and then traded Jose Guillen despite the fact that he is a good fielder, has a good arm and can hit because Scioscia perceived him as a non-team player. The Angels play a National League style of baseball. The Yankees are the classic American League team built around big guns like A-Rod, Giambi, Matsui and Posada.
Because the Angels are the better team. It's that simple. It's always that simple.
because the yankees are not a good team
pitching
IDK, but it's pissing me off bigtime.
I can't even imagine how pissed the actual Yankee players are. . . .
This year it is the pitching. Also the Yankees get some of the best players in the league but they don't seem to have chemistry
I think it has a lot to do with Angel's style of
play. Angels player don't take many strikes
and like to hit. Yankee pitcher (ie Wang, Mussina)
likes to throw strikes. Also I think Yankee player
have hard time with Figgins
Sometimes one team simply has the number of another team. It's probably that the Angels style of play under Mike Sciosa seems to counter well the style of the Yankees. Obviously too the Angels aren't intimidated by the Yankees either.
There is always the intangible and mental. The Yankees know that the Angels have a winning record against them and even as professionals it is hard to completely get that out of your head. So the Angels think they should win and the Yankees worry that the Angels are a team who can beat them. And the expectations influence reality.
Must be something in the color of the uniforms messes with the brain. It's the only thing that's remained constant. Goes back to before Torre & Scosia. I get a bad feeling just thinking about the Angels . ;D
The Yankees are the Evil Empire (cue Darth Vader theme).
The Angels have, well, angels on their side. There was a movie about it.
And throughout western history, good defeats evil.
QED.
(PS. Since Torre became manager in 1996, the Yankees also have losing records against the Reds and Dodgers, sporting 1-2 records against these interleague opponents. Not major, but there they are.)
They are overpaid choke artists!
the Angels pitchers and good pitching will always dominate hitters plus the yankees are not what they once use to be
