What was the overall talent level in the MLB in the 1950s compared to today?

like what if a team like the Yankees or any other good team or any average team back in the 50s were to play in the MLB of today, would they be able to beat the teams of today? Has the overall MLB talent level improved that much since then?
What about the overall talent in the MLB in the 1920s or 1970s or 80s?
Could any team back in those days actually be world series winners today?

with the new advances and introduction of wheight training to baseball, strength and conditioning is better today. but is the talent better today? hard to say but i dont think so. the thing from the 1910s thru 1960s baseball was life. kids played all the time everyday after school that was all kids would do from the end of school to the end of the sunlight thats what they played and on the weekends and on during the summer they played all the time so that would definetly help their talent level. today its not. theyre are tons of other sports and things people do. so they’re skill level would be depleted because of that. but any good team from any era could compete in any other era

The 50′s? Probably couldn’t compete except maybe the pitching. The players now are faster and more athletic. There were some great teams in the 70′s and 80′s that could.

less teams in the 50s which means that only the better players were called up

People don’t get that in the 50′s even though the color barrier was broken by Jackie in ’47 many teams still didn’t have african americans on their teams. Many great african americans never got a chance to prove they belonged in the Majors.Today Major league baseball is Truly international having great players from Japan and the Dominican, plus players from Cuba which were not allowed to come to America to play baseball.
Fitness/Diet have improved dramatically,Steroids have tainted the stats but remember pitchers use as well, still no question today’s players overall are better.

obviously talent is better today than any era. strength/conditioning is head and shoulders better than the 50s.

20s to today is just a completely different game.
70s and 80s compared to today is pretty similar, but i would take today’s talent

the big red machine teams in the 70s, the A’s in the 80s, and the bronx bombers teams could probably win today
