If you are looking for a horse camp for your child, there are factors that you must consider. The first and the most important factor to consider when looking for a horse camp is your childs safety. You must also consider how your child is going to learn.

A horse camp is a place where campers or people who want to learn how to ride a horse are taught how to ride and handle a horse. For experienced horse riders, it is where they develop horse riding skills. In a horse camp, riders are taught horse care, how to keep a horse and how to be safe around a horse. Not only does a horse camp help horse riders improve their riding skills, it also teaches them what is involved in owning a horse.

The following are the basic lessons that your child will probably learn during his or her stay in a horse camp.

Your child will be taught of the proper grooming techniques and how to pick up all four hooves and clean them safely.

Your child will learn what tack the horse wears and how to properly put it on the horse and adjust it to fit.

Your child will learn the proper care and storage of their tack.

Your child will learn the parts of the horse, the saddle and the bridle.

Your child will have discussions on many topics regarding veterinary care, farrier care and proper feed and water.

1. Before looking for a horse camp, you must determine what style of riding your child is interested in. There are several riding styles but the two most popular are the Western style and English style, each having several types. Horse camps offer classes for both the beginner and intermediate to advanced riders. Make sure that your child is in the right class so he or she doesnt get intimidated or scared.

2. Find a good camp that is near to your place because you do not want to spend hours just for travelling. You can ask the people you know, equestrian tack shops, horse feed stores or the local veterinarian. Internet is also an excellent source of information on horse camps.

3. It is better if you can visit the horse camp first. Know if the facility is well run, clean, well organized and safe. If possible, go to the bathroom and see if it is clean and organized. The condition of the camp will reflect the characteristics of the instructor.

4. See to it that the horses used in the lessons are well trained and well behaved. It will be very difficult and unsafe for children and beginners to work with aggressive horse. Know if the equipments are also good.

5. You should also ask about the rotation of adults to children at the camp each day. Know if the camp offers a counselor.

6. Usually, aside from horse riding lessons, horse camps include other activities in their program. Some include educational activities, while others add entertaining activities to keep their campers enthusiastic. You should ask about these activities.

7. Another very important thing to know is the camps medical facilities and access. Know their capabilities in case of emergencies and ask if the camp has first aid kits ready. Ask how near the closest medical center or hospital is. Other things you should ask are the hours of operation, other fees, if lunch is included in the fee, etc.

8. Horse camps should be concerned about their campers safety so they should require proper clothing. If they dont, then it is not the right camp for your child.

These are the guidelines to follow so you can find the right place for your child to enjoy horse riding.

When you are buying electronics, it is a safe bet that you want current information and quality advice. There are basically two places you can shop, electronics stores, and the electronics department of your local retailer. Each option has pros and cons.

Retail Electronics

Most all major retailers have an electronics department. Generally speaking, they will have the most popular brands and models in stock.

You can anticipate the prices to be cheaper at a retail shop as opposed to electronic stores, as the major traders deal in bulk or volume. However , you will be doubtful to get real high-end electronics.

Another issue you will have is the knowledge of the employees. At retailers, the person in electronics is likely to be an average Joe with limited knowledge to draw on. Hence, if you are not sure what components you need or other technical information you are better off going to electronic stores.

Electronic Stores

Almost each little town in America has electronic stores for instance Radio Shack or an equivalent. These are usually small department store that focus in offering electronics only. Occasionally they will own some other supplies but only plainly .

Electronic stores are unable to carry large quantities of merchandise, for this reason, they cannot get the bulk discounts that larger stores do. Therefore their merchandise will be higher than retail. Of course many times the quality, makes up for the difference in price, but not always.

Store personnel in electronic stores should be more knowledgeable, their only job is to work with and around electronics. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule so it is not unheard of to come across and employee who is less informed than you are.

Choosing

Currently you should make decision which one you should use, let’s review:

Retail:

Unexpensive Top brand names Less well-informed Suitable (you may be there for other merchandise)

Electronic Stores:

More expensive High end equipment Educated Less convenient (will have to make special trip)

The problem stays which of the pros are more essential ? If you are on a very strict finances and must have a DVD player then retailer is your best bet. Otherwise if you are setting up a home office with multiple laptop wanting a network that you see nothing about setting up, you are off to the electronics stores.

Each has their function and place as you can see. Take your time and never forget you could always ask about price matching or go to the electronic stores for information, compiling a list of needed electronics and then take that information to the electronics department of your local retailer.
