Bronx Street Named for Yankee Catcher Underwhelms

Thurman Munson Way, better known to residents of the South Bronx as 156th Street.Thurman Munson, a Yankees catcher who died at 32 in 1979, is memorialized by a narrow road in the Bronx between a rail-yard bed and a housing complex. To many, it hardly seems a fitting tribute.
