I think I feel more sorry for Jim Joyce than I do Armando Galarraga. Armando will be more remembered than other perfect game pitchers. For the rest of his life he’ll be continually slapped on the back by countless individuals telling him “You pitched a perfect game, buddy!”
But Jim Joyce? He’ll always be remembered as the idiot umpire who ruined a great, wonderful moment. For the rest of his life he’ll see smirks and whispering faces looking at him askance.
